|On O8/26/2006, the first ever Dayton Area Asian Cultural Festival was
presented by member and affiliated organizations of the Asian American
Council, Dayton, Ohio, in partnership with the City of Miamisburg.
Festival-goers were treated to the cultures of various Asian countries. In
addition to shows by artists of international renown, there were food and
drinks, crafts, educational displays, entertainment, and adult and children's
activities Showcased were the cultures of China, India, Japan, Korea,
Pakistan, Philippines, and Vietnam.
A SUVsaurus Bites the Dust. On 05/12/2006, General
Motors Corp based in Detroit, Michigan announced that
the 2006 model year will be the last for the Hummer
H1. June will be the last month for the manufacture of
the over-grown gas-guzzler which gave its owner about
10 miles to the gallon. I would guess that rising gas
prices had something to do with the demise of this

Abraham was an Immigrant: A Theological Reflection
Abraham is widely accepted as a patriarch of the three great
monotheistic faiths of the World. Abraham was an immigrant. His
father, Terah was from the land of Ur of the Chaldeans
(somewhere in present day Iraq) and while the tribe was resting at
Haran, Terah died. Abraham, then known as Abram, heard God
