I will give, in my house and within my walls, a monument and a name better than sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that shall not be cut off. Isaiah 56:5 Yad Vashem seeks to preserve the memory and names of the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust and the numerous Jewish communities destroyed during that time (1933-1945). Yad Vashem also honors non-Jews who risked their lives to save Jews during the Holocaust. Yad Vashem is situated on the western slope of Mount Herzl on the Mount of Remembrance in Jerusalem, Israel. |
